Sunday Services

In England places of worship can remain open during this new lock-down period.

We will continue to hold services on Sunday at the usual times but please exercise caution in deciding whether to come. Depending on your own health or seniority, or that of your household or support bubble, you may feel that it is currently better not to attend.

If you or someone you know would like to receive our weekly newsletter by email please email me at vicar@arlesey.org.uk or if you'd like a printed copy please telephone or pop a note through the vicarage letterbox.

Worship resources
For the benefit of those who cannot attend or decide not to, there are various resources available for you.
  • Sunday services will continue to be recorded and posted on YouTube. We aim to have the service available from 2pm on the Sunday. As usual you can access this from our website www.arlesey.org.uk
for those with no internet access...
  • We have small collections of prayers and short services for daily use - please let me know if you or someone you are in contact with would like copies of these and I will deliver them.
  • If you would like to have a copy of our hymn book and/or bible for your private prayers again please ask and we will deliver one to you.
  • The Church of England continues to provide a daily telephone prayer service - please see below.
Church - Weekday Opening
St Peter's Church is also open daily for private prayer. We hope to open between 9.00am (11.00am Sundays) to 5.00pm daily, although we may have to shut the church without notice if necessary.

Please feel free and welcome to come and spend time in prayer or meditation. The two back pews are available. The remainder of the Church is cordoned off to make the daily cleaning process feasible.

Please follow the instructions in Church and make sure you use the sanitiser both when entering and leaving the Church.
Zoom 'Coffee sessions'
To help stave off loneliness and provide a bit of human contact, we will be trialing a couple of Zoom sessions - please 'bring' your own coffee & biscuits and come for a chat on;
  • Tuesdays 10.30am
  • Thursdays 7.30pm

Please use
this link to access the Zoom meeting

Telephone Prayers
The national church Daily Hope phone line is available 24 hours a day 0800 804 8044
This free national phone line is designed especially for those who do not have access to the internet.
Callers will hear a special greeting from the Archbishop of Canterbury before choosing from a range of options, including ‘Prayer During the Day’, ‘Night Prayer’ and a recording of the Church of England’s weekly national online service.
A section called Hymn Line will also offer a small selection of hymns, updated daily.

Donations for the Need project can be taken to the Stotfold office between 8am and 12noon, Monday - Friday. Please leave the bag outside the door and knock to gain attention. They will take them in after you have left.

Money donations are still needed if possible too please.

Thank you.

If you want us to include specific people in our prayers please email me their name (but remember to check with them first that they are happy for that.) The list is shared with members of our congregation in our prayers and read during our Sunday service but will not be published anywhere.
